Romaine lettuce, also called cos lettuce, is the classic choice for Caesar salads. This heat tolerant lettuce features 8-10″ upright green leaves with firm, crisp mid-ribs. Slower to bolt (send up a seed stalk) than other lettuces.

Lettuce prefers cool weather. Select a location with full sun, or part shade in hot areas. Sow in early spring, or fall/winter in mild climates. Keep soil evenly moist for best growth.Thin regularly. Lettuce does not like to be crowded.
Harvest leaves as needed. Plant every two to three weeks for continuous harvest.
